Infill plots wanted in Cardiff
If you own infill plots in or around Cardiff, we would like to hear about it. We buy directly and give a free, no-obligation appraisal.
If you own a gap between buildings on a road, it may be an infill plot. We look at how new homes would sit alongside the neighbours, how they would be reached, and whether trees or drainage affect the space.

Is your land in Cardiff the kind we want?
Around Cardiff, infill plots are often side gardens or gaps left between older houses; the street's character usually sets the design. As the county town of South Glamorgan, Cardiff anchors the area we cover here, along with Penarth, Caerphilly and Barry.
- Gaps in a street frontage between houses or other buildings
- Corner plots within built-up areas
- Small yards or garages between houses
- Land with or without an earlier planning history
Cardiff is a major focus for new homes in Wales, with regeneration around Cardiff Bay, the city centre and stations on the South Wales Metro. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast, conservation areas and the airport at Rhoose shape what is suitable in the rural Vale.
What usually makes or breaks it
Character of the street
New homes need to suit the building line, height and spacing of the street.
Parking and access
A safe access and enough parking can decide small schemes.
Trees
Protected trees or trees in a conservation area can limit what fits.
The Planning (Wales) Act 2026 received Royal Assent on 27 April 2026 and is being brought into force in stages, consolidating Welsh planning law into a single Welsh framework.

Questions owners in Cardiff ask
How wide does an infill plot need to be?
There is no fixed figure; it depends on the street. A plot that allows a home similar in width to its neighbours, with space to the sides, is a good start.
Do small infill sites need biodiversity net gain?
In England, from 6 August 2026 most non-major sites of 0.2 hectares or less are exempt from mandatory BNG, unless priority habitat is affected. Wales uses a different approach.
Is Cardiff too far from our Birmingham base?
No. We are based in Great Barr, Birmingham, about 92 miles from Cardiff, and we look at land right across England and Wales.
Do I need to pay anything to have land in Cardiff assessed?
No. Our appraisal is free and there is no obligation to sell to us.
